Cheasty is always an enjoyable spot to work. Usually there are neighborhood homeschoolers playing in the forest. Just as it should be. We weeded out a planting we had installed a few months previous and they were leafing out beautifully! The goat's beard / Aruncus dioicus was jutting tall and ready to burst into bloom thanks to our trusty stick teepees protecting the delicate dormant sprouts over winter. We were happy to hear that the City has approved funding for a proper staircase at the base of the hill. The Greenspace is really looking sharp thanks to all the dedicated volunteers!
goat's beard / Aruncus dioicus
The kids did a diligent job of protecting the tiny shoots of the dormant goat's beard when they were planted, protecting them from trampling until they had the chance to burst forth in spring. Come by and enjoy the tall flowers in May. A great native for gardens!
